How we do it…

THE PROCESS : START TO FINISH

How do we get started?

Consultation

We will make a time to meet with you in home or office to see where the renovations will be taking place. We start by listening to you to get an understanding of what you are after in terms of look and feel of your renovations. At this time we can discuss design, layout, space-saving measures, finishes and budgets. The advantage of being in the environment where the renovations are actually going to take place is that we are able to offer our expert opinion on different design aspects.

It’s a great idea to start looking through kitchen and bathroom magazines before our initial meeting, that way if you have something particular in mind you can show us the pictures and we can incorporate that into the design if possible.

If you are building and you need us to work from floor plans, we are able to make an appointment to meet you either at our workshop or another venue that suits you.

Planning

After our initial consultation we will get to work on generating plans and a quote based on the notes taken at the consultation. Once this is completed we forward you a written quote often this may include some sketches.

Personalisation

At this point if there is anything you wish to change, even something as small as turning a cupboard into a pot-drawer, that’s absolutely fine, because that is all part of ensuring that you are getting your dream kitchen, that is both functional and stunning!

Once you are completely happy with everything and you wish to proceed, we will make the necessary arrangements regarding timelines.

At this time we will also require a deposit before we proceed with ordering and cutting the materials for your job. We will also ask you to sign your quote as an agreement between yourself and Taste Kitchens.

Often customers ask us to generate a 3D drawing, as this is quite a time-consuming process we do ask for a $50 payment for this service, which is deducted from the cost of the project if you proceed.

Choosing colours and products

If it hasn’t already been done, this is the time when you will need to make choices about things such as door and bench-top profiles and colours, handles, and drawer inserts etc. Some of these materials are displayed in our showroom, but for some things, you will need to visit other suppliers and we will be able to direct you where to go for all of these things.

Double checking everything

Sometime between you ordering your kitchen and installation taking place, we will need to visit the premises to do some final measurements and make sure that there are no obstacles which will prevent us from installing the job as scheduled.

Installation

On the day that your job is installed a fully-trained and qualified member of our installation team, will be in attendance. We can be on a site for anywhere from half a day for a small job, to a week or more if we are fitting out your whole home.

You will be responsible for removing any existing cupboards or built-in-furnishings that sit where your new cabinets are to be installed (unless prior arrangements made), this must be done prior to our arrival on site. Fridges and any other valuables need to be removed from the immediate area where your cabinets are being installed, to avoid any accidental damage.

What happens after we leave?

We take great pride in ensuring that you, the customer, is completely happy with the end result of any cabinet works carried out by Taste Kitchens. All materials are covered by a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty and hardware such as hinges and drawer runners, are covered by a lifetime warranty. You can read more about the quality materials we use on our suppliers page.

Now you can sit back, relax and enjoy your new kitchen!!
